Please read this page together with Map 2.
There are quite a few locations from which you can spot and take photos. There is no location which is entirely perfect. I have chosen 11 locations which I think are of interest: see below.
Security Note: You are strictly not allowed to go near any fences surrounding the Airport. Do not climb up or damage any part of the fence. If you are spotting or taking photos from the perimeter of the Airport, you should stay on the opposite side of the road. Security personnel will ask you to move further back if you go near the fence. You must not use any ladder or steps. Please be sensible at all times.
Police patrol vehicles or Airport security cars may come around every now and then but otherwise there is nothing too much to be concerned about. If they ask you any questions or ask for identification documents, please co-operate with them and explain clearly and politely what you are doing. They are most likely to do so when there are special occasions that warrant heightened security, e.g. a foreign government official arriving. You should always carry a passport or a Hong Kong Identity Card.
